Today, Thursday, March 26, 2026, is Spring Picture Day at Merrill School. Bring your best smile with you to school today!
Yesterday, some of our Fifth Grade students helped prepare us for the IAR test today. The students provided a little humor along with our four goals for the test: get plenty of rest, eat a healthy breakfast, arrive on time, and do your best. Merrill School's testing dates are March 18, 19, 20, 24, & 25.
Due to the forecasted weather severity for tomorrow, Rock Falls ESD 13 will have an e-learning day on Monday, March 16th. Please follow the e-learning plan that has been shared and used previously. Please reach out to school staff via email if you have questions.
Dear Families,
With the forecasted winter weather approaching, we want to ensure everyone stays safe and informed. We are currently monitoring the conditions for Sunday night into Monday.
While school is currently scheduled to open as normal, there is a possibility of a closure. A final decision will be made based on road safety and facility conditions. If school is canceled, information will be sent via phone, email, text, Facebook, and Channel 6 KWQC as early as possible.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and for keeping our students' and staff safety a priority.

Congratulations to the Merrill School Second Quarter award winners! Students in each grade were recognized for Perfect Attendance, Honor Roll, and the High Honor Roll. Great work, Merrill Students!
They have grown so much! From the first day of Beginning Band class to last night's performance, the 5th Grade Beginning Band has learned and improved so much. Thank you to the students and Mr. O'Donnell for all of their hard work. It is really paying off.
Merrill Students and Staff can choose to dress up throughout the December 15-19 school week.
If your Merrill Student is missing their coat, it may be in the Merrill Lost and Found. We have a variety of missing items. Please have your student stop by and check out our selection.
Merrill School's "Build It Festival" family night was a great time to build some new memories with family, friends, and the Merrill Staff.
Thursday after school, a group of fourth-grade Merrill girls participated in their Tech Gyrls graduation. Tech Gyrls is a program for fourth-grade girls sponsored by the YWCA that promotes STEM fields. During the graduation, students spoke to the guests about what they had learned and their love for the program.
Join us on Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 for our "Build It Festival". Students will be able to create structures and discover shapes and designs. You can come for 20 minutes or two hours.
