They have grown so much! From the first day of Beginning Band class to last night's performance, the 5th Grade Beginning Band has learned and improved so much. Thank you to the students and Mr. O'Donnell for all of their hard work. It is really paying off.

Thursday after school, a group of fourth-grade Merrill girls participated in their Tech Gyrls graduation. Tech Gyrls is a program for fourth-grade girls sponsored by the YWCA that promotes STEM fields. During the graduation, students spoke to the guests about what they had learned and their love for the program.

Rock Falls ESD 13 will be partnering with the Whiteside United Way to provide meals for our families who are eligible for free and reduced fees beginning Friday, November 14th. Information on how to register is provided below as well as the QR code. Registration must occur by Monday, November 10th.
Information on pick-up dates, time and location will be provided at a later date by District 13. Qualified families who are registered in the program will need to pick up the meals. District 13 is unable to deliver or send home with a student. Once again, this opportunity is for families who qualify for free and reduced fees only.

Today, Merrill School recognized our First Quarter Award winners. Any student who had perfect attendance for the first quarter, earned all As and Bs, or all As, was recognized with their classmates. During our ceremony, we also discussed Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind and the importance of setting goals for the second quarter and the remainder of the school year.

Congratulations to the 122 students who earned perfect attendance for September. Merrill School met its goal of an overall attendance rate of over 95%, achieving a rate of 95.3 % for September.
